   REPLACEMENT: FRONT LOWER ARM-BMW Z8

ROADSTER(E52). TOOLS YOU MIGHT NEED:

1   Secure the wheels with chocks.

2 Loosen the wheel mounting bolts.Use wheelimpact socket #17.

3  Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

4  Unscrew the wheel bolts.

5 Remove the wheel.

6 Remove the control arm cover.

 7    Clean all joints of the arm.Use a wire brush.Use WD-40 spray.

8  Unscrew the ball joint fastening to the steering knuckle.Use a drive socket #22.Use a ratchet wrench.

9 Disconnect the ball joint from the steering knuckle.Use a ball joint puller.

10 Unscrew the lower fastener connecting the shock strut to the steering knuckle.Use a combination spanner #18.
Use a drive socket #16.Use a ratchet wrench.

11 Unscrew the front arm fastener.Use a combination spanner #18.Use a drive socket #18.Use a ratchet wrench.

12  Remove the front fastener of the controlarm.

 13|Remove the arm.

14 Clean the mounting seats and the thread of the suspension arm.Use a wire brush.Use WD-40

spray.

15| Install a new arm.

16 Connect the balljoint to the steering knuckle.

17 Screw the fasteners of the ball joint.Use a drive socket #22.Use a ratchet wrench.
